This comprehensive Turkey family adventure spans 7 days and 6 nights, covering three of Turkey's most iconic destinations. You'll spend 2 nights in Istanbul exploring the historic Old City, Grand Bazaar, and Blue Mosque. Then you'll fly to Cappadocia for 2 nights to discover fairy chimneys, underground cities, and enjoy authentic cooking classes. The journey concludes with 2 nights in Antalya on the Mediterranean coast, where you can relax on beautiful beaches. The itinerary includes domestic flights, all transfers, and accommodation throughout.

The minimum age for children on this family-friendly Turkey tour is 5 years old. This age requirement ensures that young travelers can comfortably participate in all included activities, including walking tours, the underground city exploration, and cultural workshops. The itinerary is specifically designed for families, with a balanced pace that keeps children engaged without overwhelming them. At least one child under 18 must accompany adults on this family-specific departure.

Yes! Children aged 17 and under at the time of travel receive a generous 20% discount off the full adult tour price. This child discount applies to all departures commencing on or after January 1, 2026 (when booked from October 30, 2025 onwards). This makes the Turkey family tour excellent value for families traveling with multiple children. The discount covers all included accommodation, activities, meals, domestic flights, and ground transportation throughout the 7-day journey.

In Istanbul, your family will enjoy a comprehensive guided walking tour of the Old City, visiting iconic landmarks including the 17th-century Blue Mosque with its stunning Iznik tiles, the ancient Hippodrome where chariot races once thrilled Byzantine crowds, the historic Grand Bazaar with over 4,000 shops, and the magnificent Suleymaniye Mosque. You'll also participate in a hands-on Ebru (water marbling) workshop where both children and adults create traditional Turkish art using horsehair brushes, earth dyes, and rose branch tools. Each family member takes home their unique artwork as a memorable souvenir.

Yes! Hot air ballooning in Cappadocia is available as an optional activity (not included in the base tour price). Regular balloon flights cost approximately EUR 200 per person, while deluxe flights with smaller baskets cost EUR 230. These magical sunrise flights offer breathtaking views of Cappadocia's fairy chimneys, rock formations, and valleys. Hot air balloon rides must be booked directly with your local guide upon arrival, as they're subject to weather conditions and availability. Children typically must be at least 6 years old to participate. Non-flying family members can watch the spectacular balloon-filled sky from ground level.

Cappadocia offers incredible cultural immersion opportunities. You'll participate in a hands-on cooking class with the Hereni Women's Cooperative, where local women teach you to prepare regional specialties including mantı (Turkish dumplings), tandır bread baked in traditional clay ovens, regional soups, and traditional desserts. This meaningful experience supports women's economic empowerment while preserving culinary heritage. You'll also explore Kaymakli Underground City, a fascinating multi-level complex carved during the 9th-10th centuries. Optional activities include watching a Whirling Dervish ceremony and visiting the Goreme Open Air Museum with Byzantine cave churches.

The tour includes 6 breakfasts (one each morning) and 2 dinners. The first dinner is during Day 3's cooking class experience with the Hereni Women's Cooperative in Cappadocia, where you'll enjoy the traditional dishes you've prepared together. The second included dinner is the farewell celebration on Day 6 in Antalya, where your group gathers to share memories and toast to your Turkish adventure. All other meals are at your own expense, giving you flexibility to explore local restaurants, try street food, and dine according to your family's preferences and budget.

Absolutely! The itinerary balances guided activities with ample free time for independent family exploration. Day 2 in Istanbul is largely free after the morning Ebru workshop, allowing you to explore at your own pace—perhaps taking a Bosphorus cruise or visiting additional museums. Day 4 afternoon in Cappadocia is free for hiking colorful valleys or visiting pottery workshops. Day 6 in Antalya is completely free for beach relaxation, visiting the aquarium, exploring waterfalls, or discovering ancient ruins. Your knowledgeable local guide provides excellent recommendations tailored to your family's specific interests.

You'll stay in comfortable, centrally-located hotels carefully selected for their location, amenities, and family-friendly atmosphere. In Istanbul, accommodation is at the Weingart Hotel or similar for 2 nights, providing easy access to Old City attractions. In Cappadocia, you'll stay at the Ciner Hotel or similar for 2 nights, ideally positioned to explore the region's unique landscapes. In Antalya, the Dogan Hotel or similar serves as your base for 2 nights near the Mediterranean coast. All accommodations include breakfast daily. Single supplements are available for adults wanting private rooms (subject to availability).

Transportation is seamless throughout the tour. You'll take a domestic flight from Istanbul to Cappadocia on Day 3 (approximately 1.5 hours flight time), with all airport transfers included. From Cappadocia to Antalya on Day 5, you'll travel by comfortable, air-conditioned private vehicle, crossing the scenic Taurus Mountains with a lunch stop in historic Konya (approximately 7 hours total travel time). All ground transportation, including transfers between airports, hotels, and activities, is included in the tour price. Note that Turkish domestic flights have baggage restrictions: 15kg checked and 8kg cabin baggage.

Turkey offers distinct seasons, each with unique advantages. Spring (April-May) features ideal temperatures, blooming wildflowers, and fewer crowds—excellent for families. Summer (June-August) brings hot weather perfect for Antalya's beaches but can be very warm in Cappadocia; this is peak season with higher prices and more tourists. Fall (September-October) offers comfortable temperatures, harvest season experiences, and excellent overall conditions. Winter (November-March) means cold weather in Cappadocia but mild temperatures in Antalya, with the advantage of lowest prices and smallest crowds. Most families prefer spring or fall for the optimal balance.

Essential items include comfortable walking shoes for cobblestone streets and archaeological sites, modest clothing for mosque visits (covering shoulders and knees), sunscreen and sun hats for protection, swimwear and beach gear for Antalya, light layers for Cappadocia's cooler evenings, and cameras for capturing incredible landscapes. Bring a reusable water bottle, any necessary medications, and perhaps a small backpack for day trips. Remember the 15kg checked baggage limit on domestic flights. In spring and fall, pack both warm and cool-weather clothing as temperatures vary. Don't forget power adapters for Turkey's electrical outlets (220V, European-style plugs).

Our 6 day express Turkey tour covers Istanbul, Cappadocia, Pamukkale, and Ephesus efficiently—perfect for time-constrained travelers. The 7 day Turkey tour includes everything in this itinerary plus an additional day, typically adding Antalya's Mediterranean coast, extra time in Cappadocia for deeper exploration, or a full day in Istanbul to visit Topkapi Palace and more neighborhoods. The extra day reduces rushed feelings and adds flexibility. Have an extra day? Check our slightly longer itinerary for the complete comparison.

Yes. Adults who prefer a private room can request a single supplement. This is subject to availability and applies to all nights. Pricing will be confirmed by your booking agent.
